Farmers Training Programme on “Organic Farming Entrepreneurship and Farmers’Empowerment”

The farmers training on the theme ‘Organic Farming Entrepreneurship and Farmers’ Empowerment’ was conducted as part of JAIVAM sponsored project on 31^st March 2021 at Thiruvananthapuram. The inaugural session started at 9.30 AM. Dr. Santhosh. P. Thampi, Principal Investigator, JAIVA-sponsored project & Hon. Director, Inter University Centre for Organic Farming and Sustainable Agriculture (IUCOFSA) welcomed the audience. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Sabu Thomas, Hon. Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University and presided by Sri. K. V. Dayal, Organic Farming Course Coordinator, Dept. of Life Long Learning, Mahatma Gandhi University. Dr. E K Radhakrishnan, Hon. Joint Director, IUCOFSA and Smt. Manjusha K A, Hon. Joint Director, IUCOFSA felicitated. Sri. Manu T, Organic Farming Course- Joint Coordinator, Dept. of Life Long Learning, Mahatma Gandhi University proposed the vote of thanks.

There were two training sessions: (1) Basics of Entrepreneurship & Legal Aspects of starting Enterprises. (2) Govt. support for promoting Enterprise & Business prospects of Small Farmers in Agriculture. Resource person for the first session was Sri. Goutham Yogeeswar S, Deputy Director, Directorate of Handloom & Textiles, Dept. Industries and Commerce. In the first session he discussed the basics of Entrepreneurship. He has handled the second session on Legal aspects of starting Enterprises also. In the afternoon, Sri. Anil Kumar N C, Asst. District Industries Officer (Rtd.), Dept. Industries and Commerce handled the session on Govt. support for promoting Enterprise & Business prospects of Small Farmers in Agriculture.FTP Programme 2
